Academy Award winners 2016 – “And the Oscar goes to ……”
The 88th Annual Academy Awards took place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles on the 28th Feb. The grand ceremony was hosted by Chris Rock which was witnessed by millions across the globe. The nominees for the Oscars were earlier announced on January 14th. The award ceremony was filled with famous film celebrities from the industry.
Alejandro Inarritu became the third director ever to win a consecutive Oscar for Best Direction for his movie “The Revenant”. Anohni (formerly known as Anthony) became only the second transgender to be nominated for Oscar. Mentioned below are the winners announced. The biggest highlight of the night was Leonardo Di Caprio winning his first Oscar after being nominated several times in the past.
