Who invented moonwalk Step? No it’s not Michael Jackson
When we talk about western dance forms like hip-hop, break- dance , B-Boying , Locking Popping etc there have been many famous dancers around the world like Chris Brown, Prabhu Deva, Hrithik Roshan, Usher, Mikhail Baryshnikov and many more but no one has achieve the stardom as the “King of Pop” the Great Michael Jackson has achieved.Though he was the King of Pop, but his jaw dropping dance moves and number of complicated dance techniques made him earn name as “God of Dancing “. He has performed numerous dance steps in his videos, albums and stage shows but most popular out of them was “Moonwalk” which became popular during performance of “Billie Jean” on Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever on March 25, 1983.
Moonwalk a popping move is also known as Glide in which dancer moves backwards while appearing to be making the physical movement of walking forward. Though Michael Jackson is considered to be the “King of Dance” “God of Dancing “ “The Dancing Legend” he had not invented moonwalk technique which became popular and subsequently his signature move. Moonwalking is the King of Dance move but surprisingly the King of Pop didn’t create it, then who? There have been many instances of the moonwalk before Michael Jackson performed. Moon Walk move was performed by Cab Calloway way back in 1932, but the first instance of this famous move was recorded at Apollo Theater, New York by dancer “Bill Bailey” in 1955.
